Another alternative would be to do cupcakes baked with charms inside that are pulled out with a string or ribbon. The color of the charm reveals the gender of the new bundle of joy.

Or the mommy-to-be can remove a special colored knife out of the cake to reveal the gender of the baby. It’s all up to the host and how the expecting parents want to reveal the little one!
